New Business Ethiopia is an online publication from Ethiopia. NewBusinessEthiopia.com's goal is to inform each and every person having some interest in Ethiopia and Africa in general by providing daily original news and news releases from organizations operating in the continent.
Our Mission
Moving Ethiopian private press to the next era, New Business Ethiopia aims to show a better balanced and multifaceted image of the Ethiopia. It is self evident that Ethiopia has enormous potentials for reforms and growth. We are convinced that news stories, photographs and videos about Ethiopia’s business, political and social developments need to be much more available to Internet users.
Through our publishing activities and by opening our channels to our website visitors and users, we strive to show that Ethiopia is more than what some one-sided international media and politically biased online media have been showing.
The Team
Andualem Sisay
He is Founder and Managing Editor of New Business Ethiopia and "Journalism Excellence 2011 Award" Winner in English Reporting Category. He also works as a Freelancer journalist for different foreign publications such as, United Nations publication Africa Renewal and Gemini News Service, among others.
Andualem studied Journalism and took different media courses both local and abroad. Specialized in Business reporting, He has been practicing journalism for several years on various media - online and newspapers such as, Capital news paper, www.africanews.com, Addis Admass newspaper, Guardian… He also launched an online basic journalism training website, New Business Ethiopia Journalism Institute, where he and his colleagues train over 100 journalism-passionate bloggers who live in different parts of Ethiopia to help them become citizen journalists.
Tesfu Telahoun is Editor-in-Chief at New Business Ethiopia. Studied in American school for 12 years, Tesfu’s has been teaching English for over 16 year and he has been in media and communications consultancy for the past six years. He was also editor of Fortune and Capital newspapers.
Elias Gebreselassie is a Senior Reporter for New Business Ethiopia and also a freelance environmental writer for Alert Net Climate, the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s news website on the humanitarian and development impacts of climate change. He has previously worked for two English language weekly newspapers based in Addis Ababa , Capital and Fortune as well as being an editor for an English language construction magazine called Ethio-Construction.
